Healthy Travel Packing Tips – Wellness Wednesday with Cindy

Traveling is a fantastic way to explore new cultures, meet new people, and gain new experiences. But, let’s face it, traveling can be stressful and taxing on our bodies. If you’re like me, you’ve probably experienced post-travel fatigue, jet lag, and an upset stomach at some point in your travels. Fear not, my friends! With the correct packing list, you can stay healthy while traveling and enjoy all the world has beauty.

One essential item I always have with me is a stainless steel water bottle. I know it may seem small, but staying hydrated is essential to keep your body functioning correctly. It’s easy to get dehydrated when you’re on the go, and airplane travel can be particularly drying, so always have your water bottle and fill it up often.

Another item I wouldn’t leave home without is healthy snacks. I love to pack sugar snap peas for the crunch and fiber and beef sticks for a protein boost. I also throw in some seaweed snacks for some healthy minerals. It’s easy to give in to the temptation of junk food on the road, but having healthy snacks helps keep you on track.

When traveling, it can be challenging to keep track of your supplements. I found these handy little packs on Amazon that allow me to pack all my daily supplements in one place, and they’re labeled so I can easily remember when to take them. Plus, it keeps them organized and saves space in my carry-on bag.

One of the more unusual items I pack is activated charcoal. Trust me; this is a lifesaver regarding foodborne illnesses or contracting a virus. It’s simple to use; take a capsule with lots of water, and it binds to the toxins, bacteria, or viruses in your system and helps eliminate them quickly. You’re good to go with a couple of capsules with plenty of water.

Lastly, I’ve started using nasal sanitizers to keep the cold and flu viruses from sticking to the mucosal pathways in my nose. It’s a simple and inexpensive way to protect yourself and keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Now, for a little personal story, my husband and I once traveled to Asia and decided to try authentic street food. The following day, I woke up with stomach cramps and nausea. Knowing that activated charcoal can be helpful in situations like this, I took a couple of capsules and drank lots of water. To my surprise, the symptoms almost completely disappeared a few hours later! I was amazed at how quickly it worked, and I never travel without it now.

In conclusion, staying healthy while traveling is all about being prepared. Pack your stainless steel water bottle, healthy snacks, supplements, activated charcoal, and nasal sanitizers, and you’ll be ready to explore the world while staying healthy and energized. Don’t let a minor illness ruin your travel plans; with the correct packing list, you can stay on top of your health and enjoy all that traveling offers. Happy travels, my friends!
