As a 10-year-old, my dreams were big – major league baseball player or CEO of a major company. But as I grew older, reality set in, and I realized that not too many people make it to the major leagues. And as someone who didn’t graduate high school and attended 21 different schools, becoming a CEO seemed even more unrealistic. However, I was fortunate enough to have a mother who taught me that nobody in this world is stupid; you must figure out how you learn.
I felt lost when my dad passed away when I was just 10 years old. But I looked towards my older brother, who took on the role of my mentor. Having someone to look up to and guide me was crucial. Successful people helped and were more than willing to help me. And as I grew older, I learned the importance of surrounding myself with great people.and
Giving back isn’t about giving Hope or opportunity; it’s about giving Love. And it’s not just about showing Love to the people who need it the most; it’s about providing Love to ourselves. We can all give to others, but when will we help ourselves? Life is full of ups and downs, and we must recognize the moments when we need help.
I once heard a story about a man stranded on a deserted island. When he was finally rescued, he was asked how he survived. He replied, “I wasn’t alone. I had three friends with me.” Surprised, his rescuers asked him who his three friends were. “Well,” he replied, “Faith, Hope, and Love. When I felt like giving up, Faith kept me going. When things seemed hopeless, Hope gave me the strength to carry on. And when I thought I was alone, Love reminded me I wasn’t.”
