Dr. Amanda Grant Smith is a geriatric psychiatrist with decades of experience treating patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. She is board certified in psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and psychosomatic medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Smith completed her medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and did her internship, residency in psychiatry, and fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the same institution.
Dr. Smith is currently practicing in Tampa, FL, specializing in Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders, mild cognitive impairment, clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease, dementia prevention, pain medicine, neuropsychiatry, and other mental health issues associated with aging adults. She also has extensive experience diagnosing, preventing, and treating Alzheimer’s disease, and providing life coaching for those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
In addition to her practice in Tampa, FL., Dr. Smith is an Assistant Professor at USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, teaching medical students about geriatric psychiatry and mentoring residents during their training program. She also serves on various committees focused on improving patient care for elderly individuals suffering from mental health issues such as depression or anxiety.
